We decided that today would be a beach day. Maui has so many beautiful beaches that you can visit a different one every day. We picked Kapalua Bay Beach. Parking is a bit of an issue here so Karen dropped me off with all of the stuff while she was lucky enough to find a spot on the road very close by. Once she came back, we made our way to the beach.
The water was a bit rough but there were still lots of people in it, many of them snorkelling. After laying around for a while, we thought we should head into the water. I got part way in when I got knocked down on my butt. That was enough for me. I made my way back to the shore. We were getting hungry so we packed up our stuff and picked up lunch from Ono Kau Kau Mixed Plate which we enjoyed on our lanai. Earlier in the week, we invited Darren, Allison and the girls to come over for a swim. The girls were very excited to go in the pool. We all had a great time just hanging out.
After Darren and his family left, Karen and I wanted to go shopping so we thought we should go to Whaler’s Village which is located at Kaanapali Beach. We did a little bit of shopping before heading to the beach to check out the sunset. Because of all of the clouds, the sunset wasn’t as spectacular as it usually is. Since it was dinner time, we headed over to the Hula Grill which is right on the beach. Dinner was great especially dessert … Kimo’s Original Hula Pie. We can’t figure out why we haven’t discovered this sooner. We finished out our time at the mall, checking out more shops and watching a Hula show.
