Oahu, Hawaii

Another day in paradise.  I woke up early again.  My body has not adjusted to the time change yet.  I got dressed and headed to the Saint Germaine bakery to pick up breakfast.

We did some research and decided that we wanted to explore Honolulu’s Chinatown.  What an interesting place.  We walked around and experienced the sites and smells.  Besides the many shops selling trinkets, there are many flower/lei shops.  The ladies sitting around tables filled with flowers creating beautiful leis.

We always try to  ask the locals where they eat and we got a recommendation for Mei Sum Chinese Dim Sum.  We didn’t have the Dim Sum but did have probably the best chinese meal we’ve ever had.  To sum up Chinatown .. great food and cheap leis.

After dropping off the leftovers and leis, we went to Da Kine Bail Bonds .. home of Dog The Bounty Hunter.  Dog wasn’t there but we actually went inside and spoke with Wes.  We were able to take some pictures and we picked up a couple of t-shirts.

We decided that we wanted to do a little shopping.  We stopped at Hilo Hattie on our way to Ala Moana Center.  It’s an indoor mall without the roof.  We did some window shopping and picked up a Dole Whip smoothie on the recommendation of our friend Robin Kelly (Thanks Robin they were awesome).

We went back to the hotel for a little lay down and then grabbed our cameras and walked over to Waikiki Beach.  We walked the beach and watched the surfers.

We walked over to The Cheesecake Factory and picked up take out which we enjoyed on the lanai with a fine bottle of Beringer.

We ended the evening by dropping by the internet cafe and then headed over to the International Market Place .

I am not normally a jealous person, but seeing what you have done and seen in just the first three days of your trip, I have to say I am very jealous! Every picture, all I can say is “I wish I was there”. Oh well, It is still fun to see it through your eyes.

    Have fun and stay save,

Hi Ladies. Thanks for the daily updates… looks like you are having a great vacation so far. Keep up the good work. I do think I’m gonna go home tonight and make a pineapple float/whip thingy so that I can close my eyes and pretend!!! (but it’ll be pineapple out of a can, so I’ll have to pretend pretty hard)

Oh, and Dave says he wants the picture of Dorothy in the grass skirt, to also include coconut shells!
