Maui, Hawaii

Since we didn’t get back to the condo until 1am, we decided to sleep in and enjoy a morning of lounging around the pool and lunch on the lanai.

We wanted to do some shopping so we dropped into Costco and Kmart.  We then made our way to Kaanapali to check out the shops at Whalers Village.  The mall is right on the ocean and were were able to just make it for the sunset.  This was actually our first sunset during this trip.  After the sunset, we walked around the shops and spent a bit of money.

We then headed to Lahaina for dinner.  We dined at Mala which was right on the ocean.  It was really nice hearing the waves while enjoying our dinner.

On one of our earlier trips into Lahaina, we saw that Tony Curtis would be having an exhibition of his art.  Since we were on a roll of meeting famous people, we thought we would give it a try.  We walked into the gallery and he was just sitting there.  I gave Karen my camera and as I approached Mr. Curtis, he kissed my hand.  He was oh so charming.  He called Karen “darling” and me “beautiful”.

After getting star struck, we strolled along the main street and checked out the funky shops and art galleries.  Lahaina reminds me alot of Key West.

While driving back to the condo, we pulled over at a scenic lookout to check out the stars.  The skies are so clear here.
