Maui, Hawaii

After getting up at 3am yesterday, sleeping in was in order.  We spent the morning lounging around the pool, going for a quick swim in the ocean and enjoying leftover pizza for lunch on the lanai.

We wanted to do some shopping so we went to Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.  I love the shopping malls in Hawaii … most of them are open air.  Afterwards, we consulted Karen’s friend Helayne’s restaurant recommendations (we like to call it the H List) and decided to pick up take out from Wei Wei BBQ Noodles.  This was really good food.  Helayne … next time can you tell us what to order.

The Maui Film Festival was in town so we decided to catch a movie.  The really cool part is that some of the movies are screened on the Wailea Gold & Emerald golf course.  They call it the Celestial Cinema.  It was so awesome.  We brought beach chairs and bought some popcorn and drinks and settled in to an evening of entertainment.  We got to see a short film called “Wait”, “The Lake House” (Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock) and “Water” (Indian film with English subtitles).  We even saw a few shooting stars.  You can not believe how many stars were out tonight.

And I have to make sure I’m there for the Film Festival.
David read your blog and said it was “sweet” that you get to watch
a movie under the stars. How awesome!
