In a fog

We decided that today would be a beach day.  You should always have chips at the beach so we went right to the source, Cape Cod Potato Chip factory.  They have a self guided tour where you get to see them make the chips.  At the end of the tour, there is a gift shop and that’s where we stocked up.  Before hitting the beach, we picked up something called a rollwich (rolled sandwich in a pita bread) from Box Lunch in Eastham.

Nauset Light Beach which is in the Cape Cod National Seashore is a big beautiful beach located in the Outer Cape.  As we arrived and parked the car, we noticed that the fog was pretty thick.  Not sure how much of the beach we will see today.  We grabbed all of our stuff and headed down to the beach.  As we were walking down, we noticed a sign saying that there have been recent shark sightings.  In the end, we did not see any sharks but we did see lots of seals.

We spent the afternoon doing the typical beach stuff … eating, reading and napping.  Because the waves were so big and the fog was so thick, the only people in the water were the surfers.  It was kind of eerie just seeing everyone standing at the edge of the water.  Around 4:00pm, we decided to pack up and leave.

On our way home, we stopped for dinner at the Kream ‘n’ Kone in West Dennis … home of the finest fried seafood anywhere.  Besides having fabulous fried seafood, their ice cream is also very good.  We also got some shopping done at Cuffy’s in Chatham and West Dennis where each of us got some new Cape Cod sweatshirts.  And we even managed to hit two Christmas Tree Shops in West Dennis and West Yarmouth.
