Great day on the water

It is time for another vacation. This month’s adventure is courtesy of Karen’s brother Paul. He mentioned that he and his wife Jen were planning a trip to Georgian Bay and asked if we would be interested. We said “of course”. It did not take too long for the plan to come together. A couple of days in Tobermory, Manitoulin Island and then a couple of days in Pointe Au Baril.

We got on the road around 10:30am and arrived at our first stop in Penetanguishe. Karen’s nephew Dave, his wife Cathy and their boys Michael and Liam have their boat here and they invited us to spend the day. We boarded The Seacow (the name of their boat) and headed out for some fun on the water.

It was about a forty-five minute ride out to Chimney Bay where we anchored. We spent the afternoon hanging out and relaxing. Dave even took us out on the dingy to explore more of the area like Little Beausoleil Island, Honey Harbour and Roberts Island.

Lots to keep track off

Once we got back to the marina, Paul and I headed to Midland to get ourselves checked into the Super 8 Motel. When we got back, it was time for dinner and more relaxing. By now it was getting late and it was time for us to say goodby to Dave, Cathy and the boys. This was such a great way to start our Georgian Bay vacation.
