Even though it was a late night, most of us were up early today. The time change will do that to people. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast which included fresh pineapple. Michael and Liam wanted to check out the pool so we went downstairs. It is much different having to share a pool when you are used to having your own like we did in Marco Island. It was actually much colder than I expected but that did not stop us from going in.
The only real thing that we had planned for today was to check out the Aloha Mixed Plate Craft Fair which was held in the parking lot of the Old Lahaina Luau. It was pretty small but I did get some fabulous lemonade from Wai Lemi. Since we were right next door to the Aloha Mixed Plate, we decided to have lunch there which we all really enjoyed.
Just a few blocks down from the restaurant is Baby Beach. It is a beach that Darren and Allison took me to a few times last week because it is great for kids. The water is shallow and protected by a reef. We spent the better part of the afternoon playing in the water and just relaxing. Some of us even caught a few zzz’s. After a few hours, we were all very tired and decided to head home but not before stopping at Tamura’s Fine Wine & Liquors and Safeway to stock up.
For our first dinner together on Maui, we had a homemade spaghetti dinner accompanied by the sound of the crashing waves. Cathy and Liam went to bed while the rest of us went down to enjoy the hot tub and/or the pool. Between the fresh air and the time change, most of us called it an early night.
