Day off

The upside of waking up early, is that you can start your day sooner. After breakfast, I headed to Honokowai to do some shopping. The other reason was to cross off another entry on our Maui Restaurant list. Today’s destination was Fish Market Maui. Besides having a tiny restaurant that serves great fish tacos, there is a full fledged fish market. In the display case today was homemade mac crusted crab cakes, lobster salad, many varieties of fresh fish and fresh pineapple salsa. I bought a small container of the salsa which I practically finished off this afternoon.

Wednesdays are Darren’s day off but sometimes he does have promos which was the case today. Lucky for us, the promo got cancelled so he was able to join the rest of us at the beach. So we packed up the van and headed to Baby Beach which is in Lahaina. What is nice about this beach is that the water is very calm making it an ideal choice for families with small children. We spent the next hour playing around in the water. The temperature of the water was a little bit cool because the sun decided to not make an appearance today. It didn’t matter to us, we all still had a great time.

We all got back in the van and then we headed back to the mall in Kahului. Allison needed to take care of some cell phone business which allowed Darren and I to take the girls to the activity center where they had so much fun. We were to meet up with Auntie Doris at Fred’s Mexican Cafe in Kihei for dinner but things just ended up taking longer than expected. Also I think all of the running around that the girls did today wore them out because very quickly they were both asleep in the van. We decided instead of waking them, we would just grab our dinner to go. We were all very tired because by the time we got home, we all just headed to bed.
