Sometimes it pays to know the entertainment

Since we didn’t go Black Friday shopping this year, I wanted to see if Macy’s had any deals left over from the weekend so I headed back to mall in Kahului.  I was surprised that I could not find any shorts and t-shirts  at Macy’s but there were lots of sweaters and flannel pajamas.  Are sweaters really necessary in Maui?

As part of planning for this trip, we compiled a list of places that we wanted to eat at.  My thought is there is no point wasting time eating at places that are crap.  We had a couple of places in Kahului and I decided on Ba-Le Sandwiches & Bakery which is located at the food court in the Maui Marketplace.  I knew it had to be good because the line got really long just after I ordered.  The line was made up entirely of locals including a couple of firefighters and a telecom installation crew.  I ordered the Beef Teriyaki sandwich which came on a fresh French bread (which is baked on site) along with Ba-Le’s signature pickled vegetables and cilantro.  It was so yummy that I will be going back at some point during my trip.  I headed back to Lahaina to do a little bit of shopping on Front Street.

I got back to the house and Darren said he had a couple of promos today and asked if I wanted to tag along.  I should sure why not, I’ve got nothing else planned.  Today’s promos were in Kihei at the Maui Hill Resort (free Mai Tai’s) and WorldMark Kihei (free hamburgers and hot dogs).  Because the weather was co-operating, both promos were held poolside and were well attended.  We got back to Lahaina and since there wasn’t enough time to take me home, Darren said I should just stay for the show which I did.  I enjoyed it tonight just as much as I did last night.
