Water babies

We had no real plans for today, so we decided to hang around the house.  Firstly, we went down to the dock.  We saw so many types of fish … catfish, ballyhoo, some kind of striped fish, jellyfish and even a star fish.  It was just like being at the Ripley’s Aquarium.

After a leisurely breakfast, it was everybody in the pool.  We learned that it has been unseasonably warm this week, I will take that.  It was sunny and at least 82°F.  The adults stayed in the pool for a while, but the boys had us beat by a long shot.  The only time that they got out of the pool, was to to have lunch.  I think they were in there from about 11am until 4pm.   It was back to the dock for a late afternoon fish excursion.  Everyone tried their hand at casting but Dave was the only one who caught a fish.

Karen’s research prior to the trip lead her to discover that CJ’s on the Bay was hosting the Holiday Pets on Parade so we decided that we wanted to check that out.  Before the actual parade, we walked around and met most of the dogs.  There were dogs dressed up like Santa and Mrs Clause, a few dogs in ugly Christmas sweaters, there were three small dogs riding in a stroller that was decorated with Christmas lights.  But the best dog was a Golden Retriever named Jake who was dressed up like a State Farm Agent.  He won most original costume.  It was so much fun seeing all of the dogs.  There were even a couple of Shelties but none of them were as handsome as Maui.

The Paisley Maloneys headed back to the house while Karen and I picked up dinner from Michelbob’s.  We put ourselves into a BBQ meat coma poolside.  No movie tonight since we have an early morning tomorrow.
