Thanksgiving in Sin City

We had to be up somewhat early since our flight was at 9:15am.  Once we got to the airport, it only took us about 20 minutes to check in and go through security before we were waiting at the gate.  The flight was good but since it was full, we didn’t have room to stretch out.

We landed at 10:30am local time and headed outside where it was a beautiful warm fall day.  There is a new system for rental cars at McCarran International Airport.  There is just one shuttle bus that takes you to the McCarran Rent-A-Car Center where all the rental car companies are under one roof.  This is awesome since it seems that there is a shuttle bus leaving every 5 minutes and you don’t have to wait for your specific rental car company’s bus.

We headed over to Hertz and picked up our car which was a Chevy Cobalt.  Unfortunately since we booked an economy car, it had no power windows or door locks.  I guess you get what you pay for ($170USD).  We decided to have lunch at In-N-Out Burger where we were not disappointed yet again.

We had a quick stop at Dillard’s at The Boulevard Mall before we met up with Darren at Cupid’s for 1 pm wedding.  We were able to talk with him for a few minutes before witnessing the renewal of Tommy and Jennifer in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary.  Darren said he had 2 more weddings at Little White Wedding Chapel.  This is the chapel that you see on TV whenever they have a special about weddings in Las Vegas.  We watched the first wedding where once again a couple were renewing their vows for their 10th wedding anniversary.  We decided to bow out of the second wedding and just sit outside and enjoy the day.

After the weddings, we went to Darren and Allison’s house where we will be staying (thanks again guys).  Since it’s our Thanksgiving this weekend, Allison prepared for us a feast.  Darren and Allison’s good friend Linda from Belleza Wedding Chapel also joined us and we had a great time just enjoying dinner and each others company.  The rest of the night was spent just relaxing at the house.
