St. Valentine’s Day Massacre

It is our final sea day and it happens to be Valentine’s Day. I love sea days because it gives you the opportunity to do lots or nothing. A bunch of us decided to have breakfast at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville At Sea. One more checked off of the places to eat on the ship. It was off to The Waterfront to relax for the rest of the morning.

Marie had promised Brodie that he could go to Coco’s and have a treat. Teresa, Maria, Karen and I joined them. Teresa, Marie and Brodie ordered some type of brownie and ice cream dish. Maria, Karen and I ordered the Celebration Platter which serves three to four people. When the waitress brought it over to the table, I could not believe how big it was. We started working our way through it and then we put out a call to the rest of the group for anyone to come and help us finish it off. Linda, Becca and Mari were the only ones that were up for the challenge. Even after having all of that ice cream, some of us went to have lunch at the Garden Cafe Buffet.

How did we spend the afternoon, everyone did something different. I went to the Observation Lounge for some reading and napping, some went to the pool deck, some went exploring and others went to their cabin. By the late afternoon, we all eventually ended back at The Waterfront. I think this is one of my favourite places on the ship along with the Observation Lounge.

Karen and I used our last dining option to have dinner at Cagney’s which is Norwegian’s steakhouse. Every time we have dined here, we always enjoy the meal and tonight was no exception. From the Lobster Bisque to the Petit Filet Mignon to the Seven Layer Cake, this was probably one of the top meals of this trip.

I saw in the Freestyle Daily that the Beatles tribute band Britain’s Finest was going to be at The Cavern. So after dinner, we headed over to line up for the 8:00pm show. The club is pretty small so it did not take long for the place to fill up. This was the best show I have seen on this cruise. They truly are Britain’s Finest. They have The Beatles’ mannerisms and accents down pat. And they actually play their instruments. If you ever get a chance to see them, do it.

From the show, we went to the Observation Lounge and “enjoyed” the piano stylings of Patricia Watson. One by one people left but a few of us ended our night at the Throwback 90’s Party out by the pool deck. Unfortunately tonight the party was really lame so we all left.
