We got up early and were on the road by 8:55am. In New Brunswick, we were able to find the World’s Largest Fiddleheads in Plaster Rock and the World’s Largest Lobster in Shediac.
We got to the Confederation Bridge and started our journey to Prince Edward Island. Before the bridge was built, the only way to the island was by ferry. The trip over the bridge took us about 15 minutes. My first impressions of Prince Edward Island was that it was a beautiful place … rolling hills of green and lots of red dirt.
We were staying at the Cavendish Gateway Resort By Clarion in Mayfield. Karen’s brother Paul stayed here last year with his family and said it was fabulous. We arrived to the hotel which was very nice and kinda creepy since it seemed that there was nobody there. It reminded us of the hotel that was in the movie “The Shining”. We had dinner at The Friendly Fisherman in Cavendish.
