It was a lazy start to our day today. I took Maui for a walk around 8am and it was already getting too hot. I think tomorrow we will have to go even earlier. Anyways, since I did not sleep well last night, it was back to bed for a nap.
Once we got moving, we took Maui over to the dog park so that he could have some time off of the leash. When we left there, we noticed that there were a lot of empty campsites. I will be curious to see how busy the campground will be here this week. We headed over to Teresa and Jon’s to see what everyone was up to today. It seemed that all of us needed groceries, so we headed to Brockville.
Before heading over to the Real Canadian Superstore, we stopped at Walmart and picked up a 10 x 10 gazebo. Prior to us leaving on this trip, Luke (trailer’s owner) emailed to tell us that the previous renters broke the awning and that it would not be fixed in time for our rental. Since it was going to be a sunny week, we thought it was best to get some shade.
We finished our errands around 2pm and we were hungry. So we picked up a late lunch from Manoll’s FIsh & Chips and headed over to Hardy Park which is on the bank of the St. Lawrence River., After we finished, we decided to take a short walk through the park. Across the river, we could see Morristown, New York. There is no chance that we will be heading into the United States any time this year.
The drive back to the campground was again along the 1000 Islands Parkway.. You can see a few of the 1000 Islands from there … some of them are tiny and some of them are really large. It is a very scenic drive.
We got back to the campground and Jon helped us get our new gazebo up. We finished up the afternoon by setting up the outdoors of the campsite. Too bad I did not get a picture of it.
After dinner, we took all of the electronics over to Teresa and Jon’s and we attempted to watch “90 Day Fiancée: Happily Ever After. Unfortunately the WiFi was not strong enough, so instead Brodie (Marie’s son) entertained us with his dance moves. The evening ended with everyone walking Karen, Maui and myself back to our trailer.
