Off to a great start

It was really nice sleeping with the sound of waves crashing just outside. I woke up at around 3:15am and was never able to get back to sleep.

The first thing we had planned for today was the Maui Whale Watch Tour with Ultimate Whale Watch. What is nice about Ultimate is that they use zodiac boats which make for smaller tour sizes and better maneuverability.

We left Lahaina Harbor and spent the next tour hours in search of humpback whales. We were rewarded a few times with whales spotting and some fin action. The time flew by very quickly and soon it was time for us to head back.

When we got back, we headed over to Sunrise Cafe for a late breakfast. Then it was off to the Maui Gift and Craft Fair where we did some shopping before the heat did us in and we decided to head back to the condo.

Sunday shopping

A couple of days before we left for this trip, I was talking to my friend Darren and he mentioned that he was going to be in Maui to perform a wedding. What are the odds of that happening. I picked him up and brought him to the condo were we spent the afternoon just hanging out and reminiscing.

Soon it was time for Darren to head to the airport, so Karen and I decided that we would take him. As we were dropping him off, we were laughing with each other trying to figure out where we would run into each other next time.

We drove back to Lahaina and picked up dinner from China Boat which we enjoyed back at the condo. The night ended with some final unpacking and watching of Hallmark Christmas Movies.

I imagine the sound of waves beats the sound of the snow okie that I have here. :).

    Happy Retirement / Happy Birthday
