Kingston discovered

Kingston, Ontario … the home of the Tragically Hip and where we spent part of our day exploring. We started the day downtown at the Kingston Public Market. It was much smaller than we expected but we did manage to get a couple of things including some really good butter tarts.

After leaving the market, we walked a block down to Confederation Park. The park is right on the waterfront and it has a fountain, Engine 1095 which is a restored locomotive and you can see Kingston City Hall from it. By this time, it was really warm so we headed back to the car.

Before heading back to the campground, we stopped in Gananoque to pick up a few things from the Metro and Dollarama. We also grabbed lunch from Panache Bakery & Cafe which we enjoyed at one of the pull outs on the 1000 Islands Parkway. Then it was an afternoon of relaxing in the trailer.

We headed over to Teresa and Jon’s where Marie hosted Mexican night which included a decorated campsite, tacos with all the fixings and even had mini sombreros and moustaches for us to wear. Next time we will have to amp up our game. The rest of the evening was spent relaxing, going for a walk and a rousing game of dice.
