It’s all about the meat

6:00am came pretty early today especially when you check the time every half hour.  We were able to find a direct flight to Los Angeles with Northwest Airlines ($370 USD).  We left Detroit at 9:35am and arrived in Los Angeles at 11:35am local time.

Once the shuttle bus finally arrived at Hertz ($420 USD), we picked up our Toyota Highlander and started on our way to Victorville.  We grabbed lunch from In-N-Out Burger and arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn ($104 USD) around 3pm.

Just as we got settled into our room, Darren and Allison arrived and we all piled in to the car and headed back to Los Angeles.  Our destination was the Westwood Village Memorial Park where there are many celebrities buried there including Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Rodney Dangerfield.  We spent the better part of an hour wandering around and looking for all of the famous people.

We saw a show recently on the Travel Channel called “All You Can Eat Paradise”.  They profiled a restaurant called Gauchos Village.  It’s a Brazilian steakhouse where men called “Gauchos” present skewers of meat for you to choose from.  We had 14 different types of meat from sirloin steak, Filet Mignon, chicken wrapped in bacon and my favourite, parmesan pork.  All I can say is that I’ve never had that much meat in one sitting.

We left LA and ended the evening, enjoying a lovely gift I received from Darren and Allison (thank you guys) … an Edible Arrangement.
