It has been a long winter and it is time to get away. We have such a great time travelling with the Paisley Maloneys that we all decided we should go back to Marco Island, Florida.
I was lucky to have the day off while Karen ended up having to work the morning. After saying goodbye to Nana, Papa and Maui, we were on the road to Detroit by 1pm. The drive was fine and we hit the Ambassador Bridge around 4pm. As we approached the border, we noticed many cars in all of the lanes except for the NEXUS lane. We quickly breezed through and were on our way. Traffic was heavy and it took us almost an hour to get to our hotel the Fairfield Inn & Suites Detroit Metro Airport Romulus ($121.55 USD which also includes the parking).
Christmas Tree Shops was our first stop. We had been admiring the flyer and we were able to pick up quite a few things. By this time, we were getting hungry so we went over to Panera Bread where we met up with Dave, Cathy, Michael and Liam. After dinner, Karen and I took the boys shopping to Meijer and Kohl’s. We ended our evening with the boys enjoying a dip in the pool back at the hotel.
