Regular readers of www.dorothyp.com know that each year I like to go somewhere for my birthday. Since last year we went to Hawaii, we decided that we should drive this year. We did lots of research and decided that the destination would be Tennessee.
The weekend started off by both Karen and I having to work on Saturday. I worked from 7am to midnight with only about a one hour break. Karen worked from 7am to 3pm and then again from 11pm until 6:30am.
The drive today was 12 hours and we needed to be in front of the TV by 9pm for the “The Sopranos” finale. We had to get going early and we were on the road by 7:30am. The drive was basically down I-75. We picked up lunch from Cracker Barrel somewhere in Ohio and then just kept on going.
We got to the Clarion Inn Willow River ($83.90 USD) in Sevierville, Tennessee around 8:15pm. This place is very beautiful. It looks like an old plantation. After checking in and unpacking the car, we only had about 1/2 hour before the show. We picked up some dinner and settled down to an evening of TV.
We watched the show and all I can say is that I felt ripped off. I thought that they would kill Tony but at least somebody got whacked. They ended the show wide open for them to come back. We were going to go for a quick dip but decided to crash since it’s been a long day and weekend.
