Does a bear s!@t in the woods

Once we got moving this morning, we decided that we would go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  While on our way, we happened to stumble upon a Bath & Body Works.  Since it’s June, it’s time for their semi-annual sale.  We managed to restrain ourselves and walked out with only a small bag each.  (But can you ever jam a lot into a small bag!)

We picked up some lunch from Atlanta Bread Company and then made our way to the park.  We stopped for a picnic lunch, alongside a peaceful stream.  Since the park is so large, we decided to just drive the Cades Cove Loop.  The loop is only 11 miles in length but it took us over 4 hours.  We saw lots of beautiful scenery, old buildings and two black bears.  We drove back on a “primitive” one way road, where we never saw another person for quite a while.  We were on high alert for black bears, but didn’t find any more along the way.

We left the park and headed into Pigeon Forge for some shopping at Old Time Pottery.  Karen did some research on TripAdvisor and someone placed a review for Gondolier Italian Restaurant & Pizza.  What caught Karen’s eye, was that the reviewer said not to go to this restaurant.  The reason being is that he didn’t want anybody else to know about this place.  The food was awesome, portions were huge, and the service was outstanding.

We got back to the hotel and enjoyed a leisurely float on the lazy river.
