How to beat the February blues

How does a person beat the February blues? By going on vacation of course. Towards the end of last year, Karen received an email from her friend Helayne letting her know that SouthWest Airlines was having a 50% off sale to Las Vegas. We thought about it for a couple of seconds and then booked the flights ($198.50 USD). Since our flight is leaving early on Sunday morning, we decided to stay overnight in Buffalo. This allowed us to enjoy a day of shopping even before starting our vacation.

Karen did some research and found out that the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge is strictly for NEXUS card holders.  What was so cool was that to even get onto the bridge, you need to swipe your card to open the locked gate.  We were the only people crossing there and it took a total of 5 seconds to cross.

Our first stop was the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.  After a quick visit to the Brighton store, we made our way to Bath & Body Works.  Now kids here is some advice.  Please stay in school.  You need to be able to figure out how to use two gift cards and three coupons to get the most amount of stuff for the least amount of money.  We left with three bags full!  After the outlet mall, we went over to the Christmas Tree Shops to see what they had.

We decided to have dinner at the Cracker Barrel before checking into our hotel.  Karen found out that the Red Roof Inn ($43 USD) offered free parking for the week, so we don’t need to park at the airport.  We ended the evening at the Eastern Hills Mall before calling it a night.
