My birthday started with furry kisses at 6:30am which was then shortly followed by a walk around the property with Maui. Once we got back inside, we had breakfast and I was lucky to have presents to open. We got the car packed up again and were on the road to Hyannis by 9:30am. The GPS said it would be a seven hour drive but we knew it would take much longer.
We stopped every couple of hours so that we could switch drivers and to give everyone a chance to stretch their legs. We learned that the rest areas in Massachusetts have small fenced in areas for pets. I have to say that Maui was a perfect passenger today.
Since we spent the entire day in the car, we decided to take a small break and stop at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets. We did not walk the entire mall but we did manage to hit our favorite stores and Maui got to meet so many new people.
We got to our vacation rental ($1250 USD) around 7:00pm and were pleasantly surprised. It was exactly like the photos on Homeaway. The yard is huge and completely fenced … perfect for Maui. Inside there are three good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open concept living area.
We ended our night with take out from Olive Garden and hot dog/hamburger cupcakes.
Thanks to Karen and Maui for making my birthday special.
