Cars and more cars

I woke up this morning with the sun streaming into my room, thinking it had to be around 7:30am.  When I looked at my watch, I was shocked to learn that it was only 5:30am.  It was much too early for anyone to be getting out of bed.  I did manage to fall back asleep until 8:30am and then we enjoyed breakfast on the side deck.

We decided to head down to The 20th Annual Father’s Day Main Street Car Show.  There were over 300 cars lined up on both sides on Main Street.  In between checking out all of the cool cars, we did stop into a couple of stores.  Maui even managed to get a few things … a new water bottle and a homemade frozen yogurt treat.  After walking a good part of Main Street, we walked over to Spanky’s Clam Shack and Seaside Saloon at the Hyannis Harbor.  We picked up some fish and chips and a lobster roll which we enjoyed in a near by park.  Before heading back to the house, we stopped in at our first Christmas Tree Shops.

While reading through the Cape Cod visitor’s guide, we came across an ad for the Kream ‘N’ Kone restaurant.  What caught our eye was that it professed to be the finest fried seafood anywhere.  This is a place we needed to try.  We stopped by the restaurant and picked up a fried scallop roll (Dorothy), broiled scallop dinner (Karen) and a couple of ice cream cones.  We took our dinner to Chapin Memorial Beach which we enjoyed in the car.  The beach does not allow dogs but we did manage to sneak Maui onto the beach to get a couple of pictures.  Our day ended with a stop at Christmas Tree Shops number two.
