Gobble, gobble

Today was American Thanksgiving.  That means turkey and all of the fixings.  But until dinner time, we had the entire day to do something.  Dave and Cathy thought that the boys would enjoy a ride on a submarine.  They booked a trip on The Reef Dancer which is a glass bottom boat in the shape of a submarine.  Karen, Deanna and I watched as they sailed away and then we proceeded to do some shopping.  In the hour that they were gone, we only got as far as The Banyan Tree.  You see there were vendors set up selling their crafts.  I think we each managed to get something.  When The Paisley Maloneys came back, the boys told us all about the different things that they saw underwater.

I sure am going to miss waking up to this

All aboard

There they go

We all ended up walking up and down most of Front Street.  Besides doing more shopping, some of us got a Dole Whip at Lahaina Ice Cream Parlour while the boys and I had shaved ice from the world famous Ululani’s.  By this time, we all were getting hungry so we headed back to the condo to enjoy some awesome BBQ Redondo hotdogs.

Just as we were finishing up lunch, I said that I think I was going to go to Darren and Allison’s for a quick visit.  I asked Michael for his “Burn ‘N Love” bear because I would get Darren to sign it.  Liam asked if he could come along and then eventually Michael said he wanted to go as well.  When we arrived, Shayla and Sienna gave each of the boys a great big hug.  We were off to a great start.  It did not take long for them to end up in the toyroom playing.  We did not stay too long since Darren, Allison and the girls had to leave to go for their Thanksgiving dinner.  Before we left, Allison told me that the girls said that they did not want the boys to leave.  We should have gotten them together earlier in the trip.  When we left, we all got lots of hugs.

Having a good time
New friends

The invite went out and joining us for dinner tonight was Ross and Susie, Greg and Anne, Liz and Algis, Susie’s sister Jackie, her husband Ken, their daughter Jen, her husband Dave and their two daughters Amanda and Vanessa.  Everyone brought something which was great.  It was a true Thanksgiving feast with turkey, stuffing, hash brown casserole, assorted vegetables, Ceasar and Five Cup Salads and King’s Hawaiian dinner rolls.  Michael and Liam even seranaded us with their ukulele playing.  Not sure how much money they made in tips.  Since it was Vanessa’s birthday yesterday, we also had chocolate cake and ice cream.  Most of us are leaving Saturday so it was really nice getting together for one last time.

Will play for tips
