Florida – Day 2

Today would be our longest day of driving, 12 hours.  We got on the road by 8:05am.  We continued our journey through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.  We stopped at Carolina Pottery to do some shopping.  These stores are awesome.  They sell anything you can thing of for your home – kitchen stuff, bedding, garden, furniture, etc.

We really didn’t want to stop for dinner, so we picked up Olive Garden.  Karen while driving had the cheese ravioli and I had the spaghetti with meat sauce.  We both also enjoyed salad and breadsticks.  Our destination for today was Pooler, Georgia which is just outside of Savannah.

After checking in, we headed down to the RiverWalk in Savannah.  We made a trip to the Savannah Candy Kitchen where we picked up some pralines.  While walking along the river, there was a spectular fireworks display (instrumented by Karen for my birthday).  We drove around the historic squares and drove by the club where The Lady Chablis performs.  If you have ever seen the movie Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil you will know who she/he is.
