Drinks won are better than drinks bought

We wanted to get somewhat of an early start, so we ordered room service.  It is really nice having someone bring you breakfast while you are still in your pyjamas.

We saw some lovely beaches yesterday on our tour that we wanted to go back and check out today.  Teresa and Marie stayed behind on the ship while Kris, Becca, Karen and I headed over to the bus terminal to pick up a two day transportation pass.  This pass allows you to ride the buses and ferries as many times as you want.  We got on the Number 7 bus and headed to the South Shore beaches.

We had the bus driver drop us off at Warwick Long Bay beach.  Once you walked down the road, you were greeted with the most beautiful beach you have ever seen.  The sand is pink and the water is a turquoise color.  It was really nice that there was next to no one there.  We had a quick swim and then packed up our stuff and started along the sandy path onto the next beach.  We spent the better part of the day walking and swimming in most of the beaches on our way to Horseshoe Bay.  It is the most famous beach in Bermuda.  Because it is so famous, everyone goes there.  I have never been on a beach with that many people.  The great thing about Horseshoe Bay is that they have facilities … change rooms, beach equipment rental and food.  We spent a little bit of time here working on our tans.

We hopped back on the bus to get back to the ship to wash off all of the sand that had accumulated on our bodies.  We were all very tired so we just decided to hang out in our rooms.  But soon it was dinner, so we headed on down to the main dining room.  Tonight’s dinner selections included Bermuda Chicken with Lemon Beurre Blanc and New York Striploin Steak.

Every Wednesday during the summer, the town of Hamilton puts on “Harbor Nights”.  They shut down Front Street for a few blocks for a street festival.  There are people selling local crafts and a variety of food.  They also set up a stage where there is live music.

We were not sure if we would make it back in time for “Name That Tune” but we did.  Team C.C. was victorious once again with the category of Island songs.  Our prize tonight … a round of drinks for the winning team.  The night ended with us checking out The Lido Pool Party and the Indonesian Crew Show.
