Karen is very busy at work but on Wednesday she realized that she would not be as busy this week. She thought this would be a good week to go on vacation. By the time I left work on Wednesday, I had the week off. The problem was we still didn’t know where to go. It couldn’t be too far. We did some quick research on the internet and decided on Cape Cod.
We got the car packed up and were on the road by 9am. The drive to Cape Cod is really straight forward … it’s basically I-90 all of the way. We crossed at the Peace Bridge and then decided to stop at the Cracker Barrel to pick up lunch. “Jack” calculated the drive at approximately 10 hours.
Once we got into Massachusetts, we used “Jack” to find us a Christmas Tree Shops but he actually took us to the distribution center. Now we know where all of that stuff comes from. We finally got into Hyannis around 8:00pm and checked into the SeaCoast Inn. We found this place using TripAdvisor and all of the reviews commented on how friendly and helpful Al & Terri are. The reviews were 100% true. Al checked us, took us up to our room and even offered to help us with our bags. When was the last time that someone offered to help with bags?
Since we didn’t have dinner, Al recommended Spanky’s Clam Shack & Seaside Saloon. The best part was that it was only a five minute walk from the motel. We walked over and the place was very busy. We only had to wait about 5 minutes and then we were seated inside with a view of the harbor.
We each had the Lobster Salad. Why do people order lobster and do all of that work when you can have lobster salad and all of the work is done for you? There was a mountain of lobster, piled on top of Caesar salad (Karen) or garden salad (Dorothy). It was yuuummmyyyy! We walked back to the hotel, unpacked the car, read through the newspaper and then called it a night.
