Canada Day long weekend 2007

Karen was fortunate enough to receive an invitation from her brother Rob to join his family at their cottage in North Bay. We left Kitchener Saturday morning around 8:30am and decided to go the back way to Barrie. Unfortunately for us, we turned onto Highway 400 too soon and got caught in traffic. Once past Barrie, the drive was fine and we arrived at the cottage around 3:00pm. Also up on this weekend were Gloria, Deanna & Harley, Teresa, Ron & Caesar and Dave & Cathy. We spent the rest of Saturday eating (as usual), fishing and hanging around the cottage.

We started our Sunday by hanging out and then decided that we wanted to go fishing. The guys went out in the small boat and the girls went out in the big boat. We have determined that the fish enjoy the Ipod. Once we got back, we had more food and then had to say our goodbyes to Dave & Cathy. We tried our hand at fishing after dinner and everybody caught something except for Ron (aka Relic). We ended up have a late night around the campfire. There were lots of laughs and I hope that none of the video footage ends up on YouTube.

All of a sudden it was Monday and the weekend was over. But before we left, we ended up spending some time at the beach. After another feeding, it was time to go. The drive was fine until we got to Barrie again. We cut across on the back roads and it only added about 15 minutes to our drive.
