Dorothy wins for the first time at the 2004 Paris Fair

Every Labour Day Weekend, Paris Ontario plays host to the Paris Fair.  We have been going for a few years now and each year we check out the photography display.  I vowed last year that I would enter pictures this year.

It was a huge task of going through all of my pictures and getting them mounted.  I decided to enter 32 pictures.

I was very nervous as we entered the hall where the pictures are displayed.  As we started walking around, I noticed that a picture I took of my good friends Darren & Allison had won a ribbon.  I was floored.  I secretly hoped that I would win a ribbon.  We kept walking around and we were very surprised at the results.  The final total was 2 – 1st place ribbons, 2 – 2nd place ribbons, a 3rd, 4th and 5th place ribbon.

Dorothy with her first prize picture
portrait – 3rd place
travel – 2nd place
lanes, paths or trails – 1st place
vacation time – 5th place
any other subject – 2nd place
an old building – 4th place
seascape – 1st place
