Bon Jovi … round #6 … I can’t believe it’s over

We got up and headed over to our Toronto offices to put in a half day.  We needed to get lunch and we had a recommendation from a couple of locals (Peter and Robin from our Toronto offices) … Oriental Gourmet House.  They said it was a hole in the wall and it was but the food was outstanding.

We walked back to the hotel and had a swim in the indoor/outdoor pool.  After a quick cat nap, we met up with Deb and Rob.  I work with Deb and she was kind enough to take the extra pair of tickets that I had for tonight’s show.  We decided to have dinner at The Loose Moose and enjoyed a lovely meal.  We walked over to the Royal York hotel and used the PATH to get to the Air Canada Centre.

Once we got into the arena and settled into our seats (on the floor, 19 rows back), I saw the platform.  You’re asking yourself … what’s the big deal about a platform.  The big deal is that Jon comes out during the show and sings in the crowd.  I looked and we are about 15 feet from the platform.  Thank you God.

Bon Jovi is the only act to sell out 5 nights at the Air Canada Centre.  That’s one night more than The Spice Girls, The Police and U2.  And as a thank you to the fans, the band gave out a flat panel TV, Toronto Raptor tickets and one lucky fan won a trip to London to see the band.

We saw the entire Daughtry set and I was even able to walk up pretty close and get a couple of pictures of Chris Daughtry.

The moment that Bon Jovi hit the stage, we were on our feet.  The show was just unbelievable.  The band was on fire.  When Jon finally did hit the platform, I just started snapping pictures.  I wasn’t able to get really close to him but that’s ok.  The setlist was changed again for tonight’s show and had a few surprises like David Bryan (keyboards) singing “In These Arms”.  The crowd didn’t want to let Bon Jovi go but unfortunately the show came to an end with Jon running down the side of the arena and exiting out at the back.

I’m now having Bon Jovi withdrawal.  Maybe I should check out the tour schedule.
