Our first full day on the ship is a sea day. Because of this, we slept in and headed up to the buffet at the Garden Cafe. We found Marie, Maria and Brodie and had our breakfast with them. Eventually everyone else showed up and we started figuring out what to do today.
Marie and Maria booked a 10:30am go-kart time so some of us headed up to the racetrack. At certain times of the day, they have double go-karts for kids and adults. Marie and Brodie were in one cart and Maria and Karen were in another. The cost is $9.95USD and for that you get five laps. Everyone really enjoyed themselves especially Brodie.
We did not explore too much of the ship yesterday so we decided to head to the Observation Lounge which is on the 15th floor at the very front of the ship. This part of the ship was specifically designed for cruising to Alaska because of it’s floor to ceiling windows. It also has many comfy places to sit. They even have a small buffet there. One by one everyone made their way here. We spent a couple of hours relaxing and just enjoying the scenery.
After lunch, some of us decided to do some more exploring of the ship. We checked out the tax and duty free shops and boutiques. And then we walked The Waterfront which is made up of outdoor seating for some of the restaurants and also lots of places to just sit and watch the world go by.
The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out with Brodie. We played a round of mini-golf before heading down to the library to check out the games.
Because we had no reservations for dinner, we joined Kris, Becca, Maria, Marie and Brodie in the Manhattan Dining Room. Tonight’s selections included Thai Spring Rolls, Bacon and Bourbon Glazed Chicken Breast and After Eight Mint Chocolate Mousse. Oh so yummy. We were going to hit the Decades Dance Party but it got rained out. Oh well … at least I can have an early night.
