We really wanted to get away for a week since things have been very busy at work lately. We did not want to drive too far but far enough to get away. Since we had such a great time last year on Cape Cod and there was still much to see and do, we decided on a return visit.
We got the car packed up and were on the road by 9am. The drive to the Whirlpool Bridge was fine and after a few questions by the border official, we were on our way to get lunch from Panera Bread.
Our first stop was the Waterloo Premium Outlets just past Rochester. We only wanted to hit three stores … Vanity Fair, Merrell and Eddie Bauer Outlet. We were very lucky to get exactly what we were looking for and a couple of surprises.
We got back in the car for a four hour drive to our next stop which was a L.L. Bean store. We only had an hour but even in that short period of time, we each managed to come away with purchases. We were ecstatic to see that there was also a Kohl’s in the same mall so we headed over there. There were lots of back to school bargains to be had.
We picked up a late dinner from Chipotle to keep us going for the last hour to Cape Cod. We arrived at our VRBO rental in Hyannis around 11pm. Once again the place looked exactly like the pictures on the website. It is a cute little house and it ended being much cheaper than the hotels in the area at this time of year. We are paying around $165 USD/night as opposed to $250 USD/night. After a long day of driving, we quickly unpacked and called it a night.
