Ahhhh

We got to sleep in and were able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to Toronto Pearson International Airport.  WestJet had a sale ($350 CAD) back in January and this is how we came to head down to Miami for my birthday.  Since we checked in and printed our bordering passes yesterday, we were able to bypass the long line.  We got to security and noticed that it too was very long.  We chuckled to ourselves because we were able to use the special Nexus line.  That was the best $50 that I ever spent.  We left the hotel at 8:30am and we were at our gate by 9:00am.

The flight to Miami was just over three hours and it was one of the quickest flights I ever experienced.  The reason being is that on WestJet flights, there are TV screens for each passenger.  I spent the time watching “Flip This House” and “Say Yes To The Dress”.

Once we landed, we were immediately struck by the Miami heat.  We picked up our car (Nissan Versa, $92.88 USD) from Hertz and made our way to the Dolphin Mall.  It’s a very large upscale outlet mall.  We spent a few hours here picking up deals from Bath & Body Works Outlet, Marshalls and Burlington Coat Factory.

My mom’s cousin has a condo in West Palm Beach and he was gracious enough to let us stay for the couple of days before our cruise.  The condo is approximately one and a half hours away from Miami.  While driving there, Karen came up with the brilliant idea that we should call ahead to The Cheesecake Factory and order take out.  They have a service where you just wait in your car and they will bring your food out to you.

We got to the condo and enjoyed our dinner on the balcony listening to the waves.  I’m so glad we are finally here.
