It is really nice waking up and seeing water and palm trees from your bed. Once I got moving, I found Cathy and Liam outside on the lanai and soon everyone else joined us. We spent the rest of the morning relaxing and watching the pool get repaired.
After lunch, we got the cars packed up to head towards Sunrise. While planning this trip, Cathy learned that the Toronto Maple Leafs were going to be playing the Florida Panthers while we were here. And since tickets were only $50 USD / person, we knew we just had to go. BB&T Center where the game was going to be played just happens to be across the street from Sawgrass Mills Mall. So we decided to combine some shopping with some hockey.
We got to the mall at around 3:00pm and spent the next couple of hours walking just a very small part of it. I forgot how big this place is. It was packed with people trying to finish up their Christmas shopping. We had to eat before the game and lucky for us the mall has a Cheesecake Factory where we enjoyed a fabulous dinner. It only took us about fifteen minutes to walk to the arena. The first thing I noticed about it was how big it was. The second thing I noticed was that there were alot of Toronto Maple fans. We made our way in and got settled into our seats.
All I can say is what a game. Especially when the Leafs tied it up late in the third period to send the game into overtime. Unfortunately things did not go our way but still I really enjoyed myself. It has only taken me 52 years to see a Toronto Maple Leafs game. On our way back to the cars, we stopped at The Cheesecake Factory and picked up dessert to have back at the house. The drive backed seemed really long and since it was late, the cheesecake and pool will have to wait until tomorrow.
