Ending on a high note

Sea day equals sleep in day.  Since we went to bed earlier than we have been all week, of course we got up earlier.  By getting up at around 5:00am, I was able to post the blog much faster.  The internet has become really slow in the evenings.  So slow that I can not even post the blog entries.  Anyways after doing that, it was back to sleep for a few more hours.

Earlier in the week, Marie asked if we wanted to go to the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast and we said for sure.  Also joining us was Maria, Teresa and Jon.  As we entered the Northern Lights Restaurant, there was a Cat In the Hat ice sculpture.  We got settled at our table and started checking out the menu.  The breakfast items had names like Truffula Tree Pancakes, Horton’s Cereal-Crusted French Toast and of course Green Eggs and Ham.  While eating our very colourful and sugary breakfast, Brodie got to meet Thing 2, The Cat In the Hat and get their autographs.  To finish off the breakfast, the wait staff came dancing down the stairs dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2.  It was a very fun breakfast.

After breakfast, Brodie, Karen and I went and got a couple of games and took them to the Lido Marketplace.  We wanted to sit there so that we could look out for dolphins.  We played our games and then decided to go exploring.  We around to the back of the ship to see if there were any dolphins there.  We could not see any so we headed to the Tides Pool which is at the back of the ship and met up with Chris, Maria, Jon, Teresa and Marie.  We hung out here for a little bit and Brodie even went into the pool.  By now it was after 12:00pm so we headed to get something to eat.  We tried the Mongolian Wok which was ok but the best part was that there was a Chocolate Extravaganza.  There were many chocolate desserts including a chocolate fountain.  Yummy.  Too much food makes me sleepy so it was back to the cabin for an afternoon of napping and getting checked in for our flight tomorrow.  Boo.

For our final dinner, we had booked the Prime Steakhouse and what was nice was that everyone was there except for the four ladies from Elmvale.  For me this was the best meal I had on the cruise.  I think everyone had the Surf & Turf.  We had stuffed ourselves but still left some room for dessert which consisted of two courses.  The first one being a chocolate birthday cake for Marie whose birthday it is on Sunday.  The second course was something called Art At Your Table.  Basically what happens is a chef brings out a cutting board and paints/creates a dessert.  It is very hard to describe so I hope the video does it justice.  Now I am truly stuffed.

We left the steakhouse and headed to the Magic Lobby for the Magic Moment.  It is like a final party to celebrate your vacation.  The captain was there along with some senior officers.  The cruise director started to count down from ten and when we got to one, a whole bunch of balloons were dropped.  Brodie had so much fun popping all of the balloons.  it was back to the cabins to begin the sad task of packing up.  Tomorrow we go home.
