I hate vacation endings

Today we are very sad.  We have to leave the Carnival Magic our home for the last week.  We got up early and I grabbed some toast and juice from the buffet because we did not want to fight the crowds there.  We had conflicting information as to what time we had to be out of the cabin.  One piece of paper said 8:00am and another said 9:00am.  All of a sudden, we heard an announcement in our cabin that we had to be out by 8:00am.  Most people decided to walk their luggage off so that made for a pretty long line once we got down to Deck 3.  From the time we left the cabin to the time that we were in the van was approximately one hour.  Marie had arranged transportation to the airport with Ace Luxury again.  In the van were Teresa, Jon, Marie, Brodie, Steve, Linda, Donna, Bret, Karen and I.  The drive to the Orlando Airport was about an hour.  We dropped Donna and Bret at the Sheraton Airport Inn & Suites since they were staying another day.  We were lucky that all of us were on the same WestJet ($174.38 USD / person including taxes) flight home.

After printing our luggage tags and boarding passes, we dropped the bags off and headed to the long security line.  It really sucked that there was NOT a NEXUS line.  It took us about twenty five minutes to get through.  While we were waiting, we got a notification that our flight was delayed by about an hour.  We grabbed some food and then we got another notification saying the flight was now delayed another hour.  This is not looking good.

We walked over to the gate and the agents there said that there is only one delay and we would be leaving at 2:20pm.  We spent the time charging up devices, grabbing snacks and trying to wear Brodie out.  When it was getting close to the new boarding time, the agents made an announcement that we would be delayed because of the conditions in Toronto.  Argh .. So we were having a second delay.  We finally got on the plane around 3:00pm but had to sit and wait for half an hour before we took off.  It was a quick two hour and twenty minute flight and we landed in Toronto at around 5:50pm.

We all got off of the plane, went through customs (which was a nightmare) and picked up our luggage.  We said our goodbyes to Marie, Brodie, Teresa and Jon.  I sure will miss my buddy Brodie.  We walked outside to be created by a harsh Canadian winter.  We caught the Park N’ Fly shuttle and very quickly we were on the road home.  We got to my house and were created with many doggie kisses and hugs.  What a great trip and thanks to Marie for planning.  Time to start working on the next one.
