Yeah … Karen’s here

On Saturdays, there is swap meet that is held at the University of Hawaii Maui College in Kahului.  It is open from 7am to 1pm.  I know from our previous trips, that you need to get there early to beat the crowds but more importantly to beat the heat.  I got there around 7:45am and was able to quicky make my way around.  I picked up fresh flowers, strawberries and for breakfast I had a Bacon Maple Brioche Donut.  After the swap meet, I headed over to Costco to pick up supplies.  The afternoon was spent running errands in Kahului with Darren, Allison, the girls and their good friend Lucille.

We got back to the house and then it was time for me to pack up my stuff and make my way to the Noelani Condominium Resort ($2072 USD, unit #410) which is where Karen and I will be staying this week.  As I walked into the unit, it was exactly like the pictures.  It took quite a few trips to get everything up to the unit.  There is no elevator here so we will definitely be getting a work out each day.  I grabbed some final supplies from Times Supermarket and then picked up dinner from China Boat.

Throughout the day, I was following Karen’s flight (Air Canada $573.97 CAD / person)  on www.flightaware.com.  I could see that her plane wasn’t coming in until 10:15pm instead of 9:50pm.  So I left for the airport around 8:00pm.  I dropped off the car at Alamo and then walked a few minutes to pick up our new car from Thrifty ($444.67 USD booked through Discount Hawaii Car Rental).   Karen arrived on time, tired but happy to finally be on vacation.  The drive to the condo took about 45 minutes which we spent the time catching up.  Once we arrived, we ended our night sitting on the lanai enjoying leftover chinese food.
