‘Til we sees you again, b’y

It was really nice to have a bit of a sleep in today.  Once we got going, we headed downstairs for some breakfast.  We went back to the room to relax a little bit longer.  I think it was just before 11:00am, when we grabbed our stuff and headed down to the car.

There were a few more stores that we wanted to check out for last minute souvenirs.  Afterwards we went over to the Dominion and picked up some salads to have for lunch.  I think I have had my fill of fried food for the foreseeable future.

I dropped Nana off at the terminal with the bags at 11:45am.  By 12:10pm, we were sitting at Gate 1.  That is how small Gander International Airport is.  Our flight was not leaving until 2:35pm, but I wanted to make sure that we did not have any problems like we had last weekend.  How did we spend all that time … blogging, eating and napping.

The flight was supposed to leave at 2:35pm but boarding took way longer than expected and we did not leave until 3:20pm.  Once we got on the plane, we settled into our seats for the just under three hour flight.  I spent the time watching Jersey Shore Family Vacation while Nana worked on her word search puzzle book.  And finally at just after 5:00pm, we landed in Mississauga to beautiful blue skies.

I messaged Karen and asked her where she wanted us to meet her.  She said that she was actually inside the airport with Kai.  This was going to be a fun surprise for Nana.  Once the suitcases started coming on the baggage carousel, ours was one of the first.  We walked out the doors and there were Karen and Kai.  When Kai finally saw and recognized us, he was just wiggling and giving lots of kisses.  On the way back home, we stopped and picked up Chinese food.

best airport greeting ever

What a great trip and I can not wait to go back.  Nana is ready to move to Newfoundland.
