Super Bowl on the high seas

The seas were so rough last night that you would hear a really loud boom when the waves hit the front of the ship.  But at some point the seas became calmer.  Today is a sea day and it is really nice not having a single thing planned today.  Well actually I had one thing planned today, sleeping in which I did.  For breakfast, a bunch of us decided to go to the Sea Day Brunch which they were serving in the Southern Lights Restaurant.  There were many choices including French Toast coated with Fruit Loops which Brodie had.  Now normally I do not have dessert at breakfast but today I had a really good piece of Banana Cream Pie.

After breakfast, everyone decided to do different things.  Teresa and Jon went to the “Fun Ashore & Fun Aboard” talk, Steve and Linda went to the casino and Marie, Brodie, Karen and I went and explored the shops.  Brodie scored big time at Cherry On Top which is a candy store.  We realized that Books & Games was nearby so we stopped in and played Operation, Connect 4  and Jenga.

Operation is so much fun

By this time it was noon and we felt that we had to eat.  Another place I wanted to try was Guy’s Burger Joint since I read so much about it online.  We did have to wait a little bit but it was so well worth it.  We were lucky that Teresa, Jon and Maria were able to join us.  Durning lunch, Karen and I offered to hang out with Brodie so that Marie could have a little time to herself.  She took us up on it.  We went back to their cabin and settled in for an afternoon of watching movies and napping.  Well two of the three of us had a nap.

After

We promised Brodie that after his nap we would go and play mini golf.  We headed up to Deck 12 which is the Spa & Sports deck.  They have pool, foosball and ping pong tables outside along with the ten hole mini golf course.  Once the golf game was finished, we headed down to the Ocean Plaza so that we could participate in the ’70s & ’80s TV Trivia.  Our team of Steve, Linda, Karen, Marie, Teresa, Jon, Brodie and Maria did really well scoring seventeen out of twenty which had us coming in second.

Most of us did not feel like going to the dining room for dinner so we just headed up to the Lido Marketplace and had the buffet.  We finished dinner just after the Super Bowl started so we went to check out the various venues that were showing game.  They had it in the Showtime Theatre and on the outdoor screen by the Tides Pool.  There were lots of jerseys and I would say it was about a fifty fifty split between New England and Philadelphia.

Are you ready for some football

We had no plans for tonight so we went back to the cabin to relax and start on the blog.  Marie and Brodie dropped by and we started to watch movies.  Steve and Linda also dropped to see what was going on.  Brodie was starting to fall asleep so he and Marie left.  The rest of us headed to the Lido Marketplace to play a few games of dice.  Just as we were finishing up a game, we heard a lot of cheering and decided to go outside to see who was winning the Super Bowl.  Philadelphia was up with two minutes left so we hung around until the end of the game.  Those last few minutes were exciting and I was surprised that the New England Patriots did not win.  Needless to say the Philadelphia Eagle fans were very happy.
