Senior Day weekend at American University

As many of you know by now, Karen’s niece Liz is a senior at American University on a volleyball scholarship.  This weekend the AU Eagles are playing their final home games before the Patriot League playoffs.  At the last home game, they having something called Senior Day.  What happens is that they honor any seniors on the team.  Since this is Liz’s last year, we decided that we wanted to come down to see the ceremony.

We were fortunate enough to get out of work by 4pm and we were on the road by 5:30pm.  The trip to the Peace Bridge was uneventful.  We stopped at the Olive Garden at McKinley Mall for a late dinner.

We decided that we wouldn’t drive the entire trip to Washington in one day.  Therefore, we stopped for the night Red Roof Inn Erie ($52.49 USD) in Pennsylvania.  This is where we met up with Karen’s brother Ross, sister-in-law Susie, Greg (their son) and Greg’s girlfriend Erika.
