After a good night’s sleep, we met up with everybody downstairs at breakfast. The Residence Inn has an awesome breakfast buffett (scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, home fries, cereal, etc, etc etc). We filled ourselves up and then headed out for the day.
Karen and I decided to go shopping while the others went down to see the monuments. We started our excursion at a Tower Records that was going out of business. We then made our way over to Tysons Corner Center. This mall is huge. I believe there are over 2-1/2 million square feet of shopping. That’s alot of stores. Before we left on this trip, we printed the mall directory and devised a plan of attack. There were a few stores that we wanted to visit – L.L. Bean, Bath & Body Works and Brighton Collectibles.
After spending a couple of hours at the mall, we picked up lunch from Chipotle and headed to the university. Since it was so warm outside for November, we enjoyed our lunch outside on the campus.
Before the game, they had the Senior ceremony. Ross, Susie, Greg and Karen went down to the floor to be with Liz. The team presented her with flowers and a beautiful framed picture. They also decorated the arena with posters.
In their final regular season home game, the AU Eagles beat the Colgate Raiders.
Since it was Liz’s day, she wanted to have dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. After having a leisurely dinner, we dropped Liz and her roommate Chelsa at their apartment. Karen and I headed down to the monuments, while the rest of our gang went back to the hotel. Unfortunately we could not find a parking spot near any of the monuments so we decided to head back to the hotel to enjoy some cheesecake before calling it a night.
