After a much needed sleep-in, I went down to the breakfast area and picked up some food which I enjoyed back in the room. Nothing is better than having breakfast in bed.
Once I got moving, it was time to head over to Robin and Leeann’s house to come up with a game plan for the day. The first stop was the Edmonton Guitar Show where we spent some time checking out all of the cool guitars and accessories.
After the guitar show, Darren wanted to take Jenn to the old neighbourhood where he and Robin grew up. Leeann and I did not feel the need to go so we instead went to West Edmonton Mall. Leeann and I had a great time checking out the stores that I missed yesterday. Eventually Robin, Darren and Jenn met up with us at the mall after their trip down memory lane.
Leeann and Robin arranged to have dinner with a couple of childhood friends. We met up with Mark and his wife and Scott and his wife at Astros Restaurant. The boys have been coming here since they were kids. Darren has always said that Scott and Mark and the male versions of Karen and myself. So it was nice to meet them in person since we have heard so much about them. For the next couple of hours, the nine of us enjoyed a fabulous meal along with many stories about the exploits of the boys while they were growing up.
The fun did not stop once dinner was over. Mark and his wife invited us over to their house. On the way, Robin and I picked up some adult beverages from the liquor store while the rest of the gang went and picked up some dessert. The stories and laughter continued until 10:30pm when we went back to Robin and Leeann’s house.
Once again, Robin, Darren and I were up very late talking. I always enjoy the conversations that the three of us have. By now it was getting close to 2:30am and I had to get back to the hotel. Since I would not be seeing them in the morning, I said my goodbyes to the LaBine brothers. I promised them that the next time I visit will not be years from now.
