We were supposed to go to Martha’s Vineyard today but when we got up, it was raining. That would not be fun so we decided that we will go tomorrow instead. With nothing planned, we started the day with a leisurely breakfast from the Sea Street Cafe again. Over breakfast we all decided that shopping is a good rainy day activity.
Kris, Becca and Lynden spent the day shopping and relaxing close to home. While Karen and I decided to venture further away. We went to the Wareham Crossing Mall where there was a Bath & Body Works and a L.L. Bean Outlet. Boy did I have fun at L.L. Bean Outlet. There was so much stuff there along with many discounts. I was able to walk away with only spending $68. After picking up lunch, we headed back to the Cape and onto Chatham.
The Chatham Pier has seals that like to hang around waiting for fish scraps. When the fishing boats come in to offload their catch, they will throw the scraps into the water. Sure enough as soon as a boat was coming in, the seals gathered around and were awarded for the patience. The pier is also home to a fish market. Besides selling fresh fish caught that day, they also have a small take out counter. We picked up a couple of Lobster Rolls and headed over to the Chatham Lighthouse Beach to enjoy the view and dinner.
We took the long way home along Route 28 which allowed us to stop at a Cufy’s of Cape Cod which had a clearance section. T-shirts for $3.99. What a bargain. We got back to the house and everyone compared each other’s purchases. We thought that before leaving Cape Cod we better have ice cream. We checked TripAdvisor and we went to Katie’s Homemade Ice Cream in downtown Hyannis. There is a reason why it is the top rated ice cream in Hyannis. Yummy!!!
