It’s been six long months since we have been on vacation and boy do I ever need the time off. We wanted to take Maui with us so that he could experience his first real vacation. We thought long and hard and decided that Cape Cod would be a great place to visit. We have been a few times before and loved it.
Since I have quite a few vacation days, I decided to take today off and just relax. What a great way to start a vacation. Unfortunately Karen had to work but was able to leave much earlier than expected. We were on the road by 3:30pm but traffic slowed us down in a few spots. We stopped just before we got to the border so that Maui could have dinner at his usual time.
We got to the Whirpool Bridge which is for Nexus card holders only and there was a line. There are too many people that now have the Nexus card. It took us about ten minutes to get across and be on our way again. We stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Buffalo and picked up dinner.
We are staying tonight at the Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Victor ($161 USD, room 158). This will give us roughly a six hour drive tomorrow. Our night ended with each of us making a quick shopping trip to Kohl’s while the other stayed behind and relaxed with Maui.
