With today being our last full day, we decided that we should have one final beach day. But before heading to the beach, there was a huge accomplishment for Liam. He finally put on the water wings and was brave enough to start swimming on his own. Way to go Liam.
We decided that since we liked South Beach so much, we would go there again. The afternoon was spent swimming, playing in the sand, napping and shelling. We found that the shells were not as good as on Wednesday but we did manage to get some more. Hopefully all of these shells do not weigh down our suitcases too much.
We thought that for our last dinner on Marco Island we should go out. Milko told us about a local’s restaurant in Goodland called Stan’s Idle Hour Seafood Restaurant. When we got there, you could tell this was a true local hangout. The restaurant is located right on the water and you can even drive your boat up if you like. We had a great dinner with some of it being local seafood and then we took whatever we did not eat and fed it to the catfish which is perfectly legal. You should have seen those fish fighting for the food.
After dinner, we headed back to the house to enjoy one final swim before packing up. Dave, Cathy and the boys have a 7am flight in the morning which means they have to leave by 3am. Karen and I do not fly out until 7pm tomorrow night. So we said our goodbyes to Michael and Liam since they will be sleeping in the morning.
