I’m so happy that Meghan and Cheyne won

It’s a five hour time difference between Hawaii and home.  This is why I was awake by 5:30am, to the sound of waves crashing right off our lanai.  I was lucky to find the Soap Network which meant a couple of hours of Beverly Hills, 90210.

We didn’t want to do anything strenuous so we decided to go to the beach.  Today’s choice is Kapalua Beach which is about five minutes north of the condo.  Karen has done tons of research for this trip and one of the recommendations from Trip Advisor was for the Honolua Store in Kapalua.   The store is a combination general store, deli and coffee shop.  We picked up some sandwiches and snacks headed for the beach.

Kapalua Beach is beautiful.  It’s crescent shaped, surrounded by palm trees, and has a clear view of Molokai.  We spent the next few hours enjoying the ocean, eating, reading and napping, and even some swimming.  A typical day at the beach.  I could get used to this.

We went back to the condo to change and headed south to Lahaina to check out the craft fair under the Banyan Tree.  There were lots of nice local crafts, including glass fusion jewelry and photography of Maui.

We needed to pick up some provisions so we stopped at the Lahaina Cannery Mall which has a Safeway.  Thanks again to Karen’s research on Trip Advisor, she signed up for a Safeway Club Card.  It’s a quick and easy way to save money on your groceries.

Right behind the mall is the Aloha Mixed Plate which is where we decided to have dinner.  The restaurant is situated right on the water next to Old Lahaina Luau.  We enjoyed a fabulous dinner with a beautiful view of the sailboats anchored off the coast of Lahaina.

We rushed back to the condo to see the finale of the Amazing Race.  I’m hoping tonight I get a decent night’s sleep before another day in paradise.

Beautiful! In case you were wondering…it is -2 here in Innisfil right now and we are expecting quite a snow “event” on Wednesday. I am sitting here freezing yelling at Ron wondering when I am ever going to experience Hawaii. LOL
Glad you guys are having a great time!!

PS…I am happy that Meghan and Cheyne won too. It was awesome seeing Vegas as their final destination. I was yelling at the tv when they couldn’t figure stuff out like the part about the Monte Carlo….come on now!

It was good seeing Miss America melt down AGAIN on that bungee thing at LOVE. She can’t count bells, she screams but then puts on the BIG smile when she sees Phil. She’s such a phony! I’m glad M&C won – they deserved it. How did they count chips so fast? And didn’t the other teams know that if you count ONE pile of chips, the others will be the same height??? Vegas Virgins! And Monte Carlo was soooo easy to figure out! Makes me want to go to Vegas! But reading your blog makes me want to go to Maui too! Kapalua is our most fave beach. We’ve lost hotel and car keys in the water there, saw turtles and reef sharks underwater and watched condos built and dreamed about owning the one closest to the beach! We usually camp out near the stone wall at the one end closest to the showers and parking lot.
    Enjoy!
