Since we only have one full day in Pigeon Forge, we were up and out of the hotel just after 9:00am. We did our research before we left home to determine which stores we wanted to check out while we were here. First up was the Tanger Outlets which have a Brighton Collectibles, The North Face and an Eddie Bauer Outlet. In under an hour, we did manage to each pick up something. Our next stop was Old Time Pottery but in the same plaza was a Coleman Outlet and they were having a tent sale. There were so many things that we could have bought but we retrained ourselves and only walked away with a few purchases. By now it was time to pick up Darren and grab some lunch which we did at Cracker Barrel.
After lunch we decided to go and drive by Dollywood to see if we could see anything of the park. I can tell you that there is nothing that you can see. The park is completed surrounded by trees. Maybe we will go there next time we come since we did hear from people that it is a really cool place to check out. We asked Darren what he wanted to do and he said the Alcatraz East Crime Museum. The museum includes interactive displays and artifacts that cover criminal intent, criminal profiles, the penal system, victim’s stories, law enforcement, crime prevention, forensic science, and the justice system. We spent the next three hours learning so much about crime. They even have the white bronco that O.J. Simpson was in during that infamous slow speed chase. We were having so much fun there that we did not leave ourselves enough time to have dinner at Olive Garden. So we ended up at Cici’s and had their $7.99 pizza buffet which was not too bad. We dropped Darren off at work and we made a stop at The Incredible Christmas Place which is a miniature version of Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
We went back to the Memories Theatre because Darren once again was kind enough to give us tickets for the “Elvis & Friends” show. I do not know how he does it but tonight’s performance was even better than last night’s which was fabulous. There were so many screaming ladies in the crowd which makes for alot of fun.
After the show, we stopped at Kroger grocery store to pick up a few things including a mermaid cake. We ended the night back at the house Darren is staying at having cake, listening to vinyl records and recapping our whirlwind weekend.
