Family vacation

I always enjoy impromptu vacations. We had a week’s vacation and we were trying to figure out where we could go. Karen came up with the brilliant idea of taking a cruise from New York City to Bermuda. Karen sent out an interest finder to her family to see who would like to join us and we got some takers. Kris, Becca, Teresa and Marie all said that would love to come.

Teresa and Marie came down from Barrie last night so that we could get an early start. We got on the road by 7:30am and we met Kris and Becca at the Ikea in Burlington. Karen jumped in the car with them and we headed on down the highway.

The time went by quickly and before we knew it, we were at the Panera Bread for lunch in Syracuse. This was the half way point in our trip today. It was another four hours and then we arrived at the Hampton Inn and Suites Parsippany/North (89.10USD + 25000 points) in Parsippany, New Jersey.

We dropped our bags off and started our shopping at the Christmas Tree Shops. There were lots of great deals and I think everyone ended up coming out with a bag of stuff. We tried to get into the Olive Garden for dinner but as usual, it was over an hour wait and we didn’t want to waste any time eating since we wanted to do more shopping. We ended up at the food court at Rockaway Townsquare Mall which then gave us a few hours to shop.

Before calling a night, we dropped into Target and ShopRite to pick up provisions for our cruise. It’s been a long day and nobody has any more energy.
