Exploring Van City

We thought that today we would head into Vancouver to do some sight seeing. Our first stop was Granville Island. It is an island under the Granville Street bridge. It is made up of cobblestone streets with many unique shops, galleries, studios and a fantastic public market. We spent a couple of hours wandering around the shops when we realized that it was time for lunch. We decided to go to the public market and check out the various food stalls. The variety of food available was unbelievable. We ended up with sushi and fish and chips. We wanted to have lunch outside by the waterfront and we were lucky to get a table under a canopy. The seagulls are so bad there that they will actually take food from you as you are walking. We saw on two occasions people getting attacked by the birds. We finished up our visit by wandering around the public market enjoying all the sights.

We left Granville Island and drove around China Town before ending up in Gastown. We walked along the streets and even got to see steam clock go off.

After doing all of our exploring, we headed back to Langley and picked up dinner from Ricky’s All Day Grill which we enjoyed with Darren, Allison and Allison’s mom Sylvia.
