Congratulations Greg and Anne

The day has finally come … Greg and Anne’s wedding day.

Instead of eating breakfast at the condo, we thought that it would be fun to go out.  Just down the road from us is Slappy Cakes a restaurant where you can make your own pancakes.  You see at each table there is a griddle.  we ran into Liz and Algis in the parking lot so they decided to join us before heading to the beach.  Half of us decided to make our own pancakes while the other half decided to have the kitchen staff make the pancakes.  Those that did their own cooking had a great time doing it.  You get to choose your batter, ingredients and toppings.  It all comes to the table along with a couple of spatulas.  It was a slow start but once they got used to it, the pancakes were flying off of the griddle.  They even got fancy with different shapes like a heart, shark and turtle.  We all left happy and full.

Liz and Algis headed off to Baby Beach while the rest of us went back to the condo to enjoy the morning by the pool.  When we got downstairs, Greg and Anne were there.  For a couple that was about to be married in a few hours, they were very relaxed.  It was so nice laying by the pool.  I even managed to read a couple of chapters of my book.  Around lunch time, we went back upstairs to eat and to get ready for the wedding.

The wedding was held at the Noelani in front of Sandy and Therese’s (Anne’s dad and stepmom) condo (unit 101).  They scattered flowers at the spot that the ceremony was performed at.  Officiating the ceremony was Pastor Laki Kaahumanu who was the minister in an episode of “Modern Family”.  The ceremony started with Greg and Anne walking down in front of the condo to where Pastor Laki was standing.  The thirty or so guests then gathered around them.  Some people from the other condo units looked down over from their lanais.  The ceremony was sweet, touching, humorous at times and full of lots of love and aloha.  Pastor Laki did such an amazing job.  After the ceremony, Sandy and Therese served champagne and snacks.

Greg and Anne chose to have their wedding reception at the Sea House Restaurant which is directly on Napili Bay.  It is considered one of Maui’s most beautiful beaches.  The food was fantastic and the sunset was the best one we have seen so far on this trip.  It was a beautiful day all around.
